Wirrum Pty Ltd is a not-for-profit Aboriginal owned organisation located in Kununurra, the East Kimberley region. Wirrum aims to improve the social, cultural and economic well-being of the people, by taking active steps within the community to achieve this.
Wirrum Dawang people are the inherited representatives of traditional law, language and culture, located in the East Kimberley. The Wirrum Dawang people are part of the Miriwoong language group. “Wirrum” means “Sugarbag Dreaming” a traditional name for bush honey produced by native bees and their hives found in trees or termite mounds on country.
We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters, and community. We pay our respect to them, their cultures, and elders past, present and future.
